For Who

This package is for Wind Turbine Technicians and offshore/onshore personnel whose current GWO BST certifications are within their renewal window. It is designed to maintain continued competence and ensure ongoing access to wind farm sites globally, including:

• Wind Turbine Technicians and Engineers
• Subcontractors and Site Inspectors
• Project Managers and Safety Officers requiring turbine access

Prerequisites

• A valid (non-expired) GWO BST or GWO BSTR certificate for all five modules.
• A high level of physical fitness and a “Fit for Work" health declaration that is completed on arrival.
• A valid form of photographic identification on the day of training.
• A minimum age of 18 years.
• A valid GWO WINDA ID.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English.

Note: This course is physically demanding; participants must be comfortable with heights and physically capable of climbing and lifting

Note: Training must be completed before the expiry date of the current certificates to be classified as a Refresher.

Course Assessments

Competency is assessed through a combination of knowledge refreshment and practical application:

• Theory Review: Instructor led discussions and knowledge checks to reinforce core safety principles and highlight current industry best practices.
• Practical Assessment: Direct observation of practical skills and emergency response techniques, including rescue exercises, fire awareness drills, first aid scenarios, and sea survival activities (where applicable).

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded five individual GWO BSTR Certificates (Working at Height, Manual Handling, Sea Survival, First Aid and  Fire Awareness) All results are uploaded to GWO WINDA and are valid for 24 months.
