The Working at Height Systems and Equipment module is one of 4 modules in the wind turbine maintenance and statutory inspection training. A combination of both classroom and practical learning this module equips students with the required skills and knowledge to safely maintain and inspect a range of personal protective equipment (PPE), personal fall protective equipment (PFPE) and Lifesaving appliances (LSA) in the wind turbine environment.

This course covers:

  • Typical windfarm Fall Arrest systems

  • Typical windfarm Personal Fall Protective Equipment

  • Typical windfarm Lifesaving Appliances

  • Risks and Hazards

  • Legislation

  • Fundamentals of fall arrest systems

  • Inspection Preparation

  • Inspection

  • Reporting

Students will be expected to safely and successfully complete a range of practical inspection tasks, as well passing a theory exam.

This course can be physically demanding and to participate in the training you must be medically fit and capable to participate fully.

Course is conducted in English, therefore you must have an appropriate level of fluency to participate

Pre-requisites

  • Core Module Attendance

  • Valid Working at Height Certificate

  • Valid Photographic ID

  • 18 years and over

Students will need to bring

  • Appropriate clothing to climb in

  • Appropriate clothing for all weather conditions

  • Safety footwear

PPE is provided by Hexis, should you wish to use your own this needs to be advised prior to the course commencing, allowing Hexis to inspect and sign off for use (certs of conformity will need to be shown on the day of your course). Hexis withholds the right to refuse use of equipment should it fail visual inspection.
